If you can handle life alone, why is there a God?

Life.

Nothing about it is easy.

Fear. Anxiety. Depression. Worries. We all have problems of one type or another. How we deal with them is what makes us diffrent. Many of us are crippled in some way by things like drug or alcohol addiction, pornography, eating disorders, pride, even suicide. You may not be struggling with these exact things, but chances are, something in your life has take over! We need to be set free, but just cannot seem to do it alone.

Desire.

Everything is never enough.

The truth is, we live life to satisfy ourselves. “I am Number One” is how we live. The problem is that once we achieve or accomplish the things we thought would bring us happiness, we find ourselves as empty as before. It seems to never be enough. Why? Because the emptiness we feel is spiritual, not just physical or emotional.

Satisfaction.

It’s not about you.

The spiritual hollowness we feel can be filled only by Jesus Christ. Jesus is first because He really is God and His one and only son. He died to pay for the bad things we do (our sins). In fact, the Bible says that “God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were yet sinners, Jesus died for us.” Because He died to pay for our sins, we can have freedom.

Understand.

This is what He did for you.

We all are sinners and the payment for sin is death and separation from God. Jesus died to pay the penalty in full for our sins. Yesterday, today and forever. He was buried in a tomb and raised from the dead with power over sin. He offers all of us the gift of eternal life. All you have to do is accept that gift. Surrender and put your trust in Jesus as the One who paid for your sins.

Submit.

Decide that you need Him.

If you believe these things, tell God. You can pray something like this. “God, thank You for loving me. I know I have sinned against You. I believe that Jesus God’s one and only Son, died to pay for my sins. I believe that you raised Jesus from the dead. I now put my trust only in Jesus to forgive me for my sins. Help me put Jesus first. Thank you for your gift of eternal life. Amen.”

Turn Back to Him.

If you have known Jesus as your savior, and have managed to turn from Him, and part from His ways. You are never late for His forgiveness. He stands there, awaiting for you to realize that you can do nothing without Him. So then, why not do the same thing you did when you first came to know Jesus. If you have somehow pushed Him out of your life, then ask Him for forgiveness, invite Him to be first in your life again. Surely, He hears your heart, your cry, and your desperate need of Him. He will be with you.
